Americoin Dozer
This rare gem was produced by Americoin circa 1970. This needed a fair bit of work, and is fully functioning now. Both track drive motors were replaced with NOS parts, so it operates like it used to. This is similar to an older bulldozer game made by Williams in the 1950's called Sidewalk Engineer. However, Dozer is superior in that there is a purpose in operating the dozer. The goal is to push "media" into one of two pits to score points, or "Tons" in this game. The media is sucked up into a hopper, which dumps automatically back into the play field when full. You get ranked by how many tons collected at the end of each game. Overall condition is very good. I rebuilt the base for this machine out of plywood, it looks as it did originally.
Americoin machines are hard to come by now. I was fortunate to find someone that actually had the right parts to get this functioning like it used to. |
This machine has the original 8-Track tape player, and a replacement original tape recording. The audio works, but the volume control only seems to work in the full volume mode. There was no media with this machine, and finding the right material was challenging. What I have in the machine now works fine, but I wish I could have found round media of the same density. This is a really fun machine to operate, and challenging to master the controls. It operates like a real dozer with separate control of each track. There is a trigger to operate the lift mechanism for the dozer blade. Cosmetics: The original base was trashed, so that was necessary to replace. The plastic in the back of the machine has some cracks which I repaired with silicone in order to maintain suction through the vacuum system. The cabinet is decent but has some imperfections. All the functions are working, including scoring, and rating at the end of the game. This is a great example of this hard to find machine. Sold May, 2018 Shipping Information: I will assist the buyer by being here and coordinating my schedule for the shipper to pick up the machine.
